Bodies by Perseverance was right up the street from my work at the time and through a co-worker, I decided to do a “New Year New You” Challenge in January 2012. I was not yet a member of the gym, but decided to give the “challenge” a try. It was a 4-week exercise and nutrition program that really jump started my fitness routine. After the challenge, I decided to become an official member. I started going over my lunch-hour, and then around the time I was getting married in 2013, I started some personal training with Jenn. I felt myself becoming more fit and becoming more conscious of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. That first year, I was doing early morning classes, lunch classes, classes after work and classes on the weekends. I was ADDICTED. I also did not have children at the time so it is easily fit into my schedule. I loved all of the instructors. I felt a connection with them and I truly felt a sense of belonging at the gym. I loved it so much that I would go to a Friday 5:30 pm class instead of happy hour! I actually felt pretty good walking up and down the street doing lunges! With a busier family life now, I am not able to go as frequently but I still go over my lunch-hour and always love coming back to work feeling re-charged. It is the best 30 minutes of my work day!.
BBP pushes me. It is hard. It is a big family. I feel a sense of accomplishment after each class. That is why I am here. I have tried other gyms but nothing ever compared to the type of workout I received at BBP. Courtney and Jenn definitely know what they are doing and I am amazed at the work they have put into this place. They have seen me through a marriage and 2 pregnancies. I was even doing Jenn’s kickboxing class 2 days before I delivered my first child. So, even being 9 months pregnant, I still did not want to miss class! That shows how much I like it. I urge people to give it a try, visit a few classes, and just see what you think. Even if you see stars on that first day, come back another day. Whether it is kickboxing, HIIT, weight training, or boxing, there is something for everyone.
What is your health and fitness goal for 2017?
Now that I am almost a year post-baby, my fitness goals have definitely changed. For 2017, I want to become more lean, build more muscle mass and maintain a healthy weight, and I know I can count on BBP to help get me there!
